I spent alot of time looking for a Mitre saw. As this is my first one and I’m a DIYer, much research time was taken looking around. First was the issue of understanding single/dual bevels, compounds and sliding compounds, etc. I wanted a quality saw, that will hopefully last 10 years and manage all the cuts i’m looking for. Also, i don’t have a full 10 car garage, more like a 1.5 car garage, so space is a consideration. So far, I’ve had great luck w/ Bosch, so i wasn’t hesitant to take on a new product of theirs. They have some pretty sweet sliding dual bevel compound saws. And the technology to help manage space….but they come at a steep price and its still a huge piece of equipment. I ended up buying this saw. So far, its been fantastic. It seems extremely well built and makes some awesome cuts. I’m on my 4th home project now with it and it goes where i go. A great part around the house is i can drag it anywhere very easily. And it stores nicely. I haven’t bought a mitre saw stand and not sure i will. I’m OKAY flipping boards around (i.e. to deal w/ the single bevel) and also using saw horses and lots of clamps to cut longer boards (no $400 stand). I recently purchased this miter saw to replace an older Porter Cable 10 inch with laser. This 12 inch saw is a pleasure to use. I first used it on a reasonably big job requiring a number of angle cuts. It was smooth and powerful and cut very easily. It does not have the laser sight but I found that it was not necessary. The line on a laser sight was always too broad and needed frequent readjustments. I could set up and make each cut faster without the sight. This saw is worth the extra money. This is a very robust and well-built miter saw. I have used it and it does what it is supposed to do and was very accurate right out of the box. The glide function works perfectly.
If there is a down side to it at all it is because it does not come with a laser guide or wing extensions. In my case the wing extensions are not a problem but over the years I have come accustomed to the laser feature in other miter saws I’ve owned.
Another down side is the premium price you pay for another product produced in China. But if you can get past the price and lack of a laser you have the big brother to all 10 miter saws. Read More At Amazon.com…

I received this unit in great shape…Thank you. I did however have some questions for Bosch and they are answering them as requested. since this is a very new product for them,, some the advertised accessories do NOT work with this saw and I also offered some suggestions for their future productions of this unit. Namely a L>E>D> work lite similar to DeWalt unit DWS6085.. Bosch has a good lazer unit but All lazers fall short of the mark in the outdoor daylite for miter saws. They ALL lack electrical power due to being powered by hearing aid batteries. This glide saw is a new concept for me so I’m slowly getting used to its operation . So far it works superior to the tube type sliding miter saws. I almost bought a Ridgid 1290lza for less money.,,,I love their(RIDGID) big plat form surface and mechanics. Hey, You want the truth well here it is.. HA HA HA,,I put this saw on a Ridgid mobile saw work station on wheels. Again for way less money than BOSCH.
